As we are a small venue, we are ideally suited to smaller more personal gatherings, with buffet catering up to a maximum of thirty guests, or seated dining for up to eighteen guests.
We are fully licensed with a well-stocked bar from Midday, every day. We have the facility to play your own choice of music, and your photos and flowers can be displayed where you choose within the venue.
We are ready to help you plan a funeral reception, tea, buffet, or dining event to remember someone you love, down to the last detail.

Buffet Wake For 16 Guests

Trying to find somewhere for a small wake wasn’t easy.
We had the funeral organised at Harts Gordon Chapel and wanted something relatively close.
We use Picnic for Breakfast and new the food was good so asked Martin and James could they do a wake for my Mum.
We talked about the amount of people which for us was 16 but they could have done a few more.
As for the food we thought we knew what we wanted but Martin reined us in with the quantity and said they would keep an eye on what’s being eaten and make fresh as required.
They certainly didn’t disappoint from the variety of food like the chicken that had been marinated for two days to the fabulous homemade cakes and keeping everyone lubricated from coffee to alcohol for the whole time we were there.
They did us proud that day, we had nothing but fab reviews from all that went.
You guys at Picnic gave my Mum the best send off.

Breakfast Brunch Wake For Mary Morrison 26th September 2022

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Martin and James at Picnic Café Bistro who pulled out all the stops to provide a superb farewell breakfast brunch for my dear sister, after her funeral service.
We wanted a sit down meal, and the cooked breakfast was just the ticket. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, with second to none service.
Once again a big , big thank you to all at Picnic.
